MAPE - Developing Philosophically Minded Professionals

Strathmore School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) hosted a networking breakfast meeting to enlighten potential students on the importance of studying a Masters of Applied Philosophy and Ethics (MAPE). MAPE is a programme designed for those who would like to advance academically and professionally in Philosophy and apply its content and methods to all areas of human endeavor. Giving insights on philosophy under the theme Developing Philosophically Minded Professionals was a MAPE lecturer Dr. Josephat Oyigo.

MAPE follows an active methodology in which the student is encouraged to read and research personally, guided by the lecturer. MAPE is designed to have students attend class for two weeks, and study online for the rest of the semester.

  • Employees who are interested in philosophy and ethics.

Policy makers like politicians, government officers, lawyers, doctors, military and security professionals, development officers, program directors, human resource personnel and psychologists, are among professions that would benefit from this course.
