The Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism and Public Relations or Journalism and Development Communication) is a pathway to becoming a public relations or communication for development practitioner who utilizes the tools of language and communication effectively.

 

 

The course aims at equipping students with skills that will enable them to communicate effectively in culturally diverse settings, interpersonal and professional contexts, as well as in public relations, advertising, event planning, sales and teaching. Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BIS)

 


Why study a BIS degree course?


The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies prepares persons who wish to work in diplomacy, large international organizations, NGO’s, international trade and global corporations. The course aims at equipping students with skills that will enable them to effectively start a career in organizations that traverse national boundaries in public service as well as private enterprise within culturally and legally diverse settings.

 

 

This program is designed to equip students with a rigorous grounding of international economics, business, and law, international politics and diplomacy, as well as international development with an emphasis on both theory and application. The course is also designed to develop persons of high integrity with critical thinking skills and with excellent communication abilities both written and oral, and who can interact effectively with the international community.

The graduates are prepared to become diplomats, foreign liaison officers, international project officers and managers, international business developers, cross-border entrepreneurs, mediators, and international development workers in governmental, non-governmental international establishments.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • KCSE (or equivalent examination) with a minimum aggregate of C+
  • A Level &IGCSE 6 Bs and above or IB 24 pts 5 in English and 4 in Mathematics

 

Entrance Examination

Applicants will be required to attend and pass an appropriate entrance examination which will include an aptitude test in Mathematics and English as well as a personal oral interview.

 

Applicants should report to the university by 8.00am on the day of the interview and should bring along the following:

  • 3 passport-size photographs
  • Original and photocopies of all relevant academic testimonials.
  • Copy of National ID / Birth Certificate / Passport
  • Student entrance examination fee of Kshs 2,000
