The Bachelor of Arts in Communication course covers three areas of concentration.
These include:Media Studies
Media studies explores how media, including social media, influences various aspects in the society. The students examine various theoretical aspects in order to interrogate how media functions and its effects on audiences. In addition, students are exposed to various techinques of gathering, producing and disseminating information for various media plaforms. Issues arising from AI are included in this segment in the course. This area of the course prepares students to tackle various media issues critically and for careers in the diverse media industry.
Public Relations
This aspect of the course is geared towards giving students skills to handle communication in organisations, to engage in stakeholder relations, manage and perform media relations, handle crisis managment, manage brand reputation as well as other public relations principles and practices.
Development Communication
This part of the course covers areas in participatory development, theatre for development, advocacy and campaigns, and development communication among others. Students who take this course work in areas of behaviour change communication campaigns, health communication, community development, and various sectors in the development field.

KCSE (or equivalent examination) with a minimum aggregate of C+A Level &IGCSE 6 Bs and above or IB 24 pts 5 in English and 4 in Mathematics
Entrance Examinations
Applicants will be required to attend and pass an appropriate entrance examination which will include an aptitude test in Mathematics and English as well as a personal oral interview.Applicants should report to the university by 8.00am on the day of the interview and should bring along the following:
3 passport-size photographs
- Original and photocopies of all relevant academic testimonials.
- Copy of National ID / Birth Certificate / Passport
- Student entrance examination fee of Ksh. 2,000
