Dr. Alice Karuri holds a PhD in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, an MA in International Affairs from George Washington University (USA) and a BA in Economics from Morgan State University (USA).

Prior to joining Strathmore University, she served as Adjunct Faculty in various universities. She has extensive work experience in the non-profit sector and in research.

Her research interests include policy analysis, impact assessment and evaluation of development interventions, institutional arrangements, global commodity chains, and issues that pertain to economic justice. Her PhD thesis was on the Coffee Sector in Kenya.
