Dr. Wanjiku Kaniaru
Senior Lecturer

Wanjiku Kaniaru received her MA in International Studies from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa and a Ph.D. from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.  She is currently working as a research consultant in the areas of environmental policy and water management and also as a Part-time Lecturer at Strathmore University.  Prior to joining Strathmore University in April 2016, Dr. Kaniaru worked as both staff and consultant for various UN agencies including, inter alia, UNEP, UN-Habitat and UNDP.  She also previously taught at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi. Dr. Kaniaru’s areas of academic expertise include international relations, public international law, diplomacy, conflict management and environmental governance.
